The Leap

So, I have taken the leap. The leap back into the dating world. It has been almost two years and I have really taken the time to make sure that I was complete with my previous relationship. And now, I am ready.

Okay, the truth is, after some of the experiences I have had, I question whether or not I am ready. I am sure you (readers) will find these little "experiences" to be quite comical.

You may be wondering what exactly has happened. A lot. I won't be able to write entries for all, but I will try to get the best (and by best, I mean the most absurd) in. This all began with a conversation I had with my mom recently. After a few weeks of hearing story after story, she exclaimed, "Carly! Really, you NEED to have a blog! This is hilarious!" Nothing makes you feel like a million bucks like when someone... not just someone... YOUR MOTHER tells you your dating life is hilarious. Regretfully, I agreed. After two minutes of brainstorming a blog address, www.ex-in-the-city.blogspot.com (money!), here we are.

I will leave you today with this little gem. I have recently started attending a singles ward. I have the same guy ask for my number every week. And every week I give it to him. Joey is a special needs boy. The kindest, most complimentary boy I have ever met. Really, he has some of the best pickup lines I have ever heard. I hope that some of those other single fellas pick up some tips from good 'ol Joey. Today, he charmed me with this:

Me: "Joey, I am diggin' those shoes. I really like them (I really did!)".

Joey: "I like your shoes. And your shirt. And your eyes. And your cute little button nose."

Me: "Thaaaanks Joey".

Smooth, right?
